Default VENUS || ARF engine selection!

I am just saving money for buying the Venus 2 after my 40size and i was looking for some engine feedback.
Gas or glow?
I think either work.

I have been told that the Evolution 26GT2 1.6 gas engine will be good.
Do you think?
What engine do you use on yours?
Do you have any pics/videos either?

I use an OS 91 FX on mine and am pretty happy with it. It won't climb out of site in a vertical climb, but in Sportsman pattern there isn't any need for a very long vertical pull.

Lots of people are putting an OS 120 AX on them and seem pleased.

I think the gasser will be too heavy as it is 7 ounces (200 grams) heavier than the 120 AX.

You do not want to put a 26cc gas in this plane. I have the Venus II with an OS 120 4 - stroke and even with the servos in the rear it is nose heavy. I also had a MVVS 26 cc gasser and it is at least 16 ozs. heavier than the 120 when you include every thing. Actually my 26 cc weighed 60 ozs. with header and tuned pipe. I sold the engine because it was just too heavy for anything I had and had a lot less power without the tuned pipe.

My Venus comes in at 8.5 lbs. and has unlimited vertical with the 120 and only uses about 12 ozs. of fuel per 10 min. flight. I couldn't be happier with it.

I chose a YS63S for mine over the Saito 82, which might have been just as good. Price wise they were the same with the addition of a Perry pump on the Saito.

I set the engine at approximately the 8 o'clock position so the stock muffler aligned with the tunnel. That was a good choice, the glow plug is accessible, the exhaust exits downward and not on the plane making cleanup easy. and I think it looks good.

I have more power than I need, will roll vertically indefinitely.

Where did you get that linkage and the control horns? Are the rods metric or fractional? Those horns have a good wide base.

The control horns come with the kit. The push rods are made from CF sets available from Central Hobbies. A bit of overkill maybe but I can "feel the difference"

When you say your using a YS .63 you must be talking about the Venus and not the Venus II
